struggle of good versus evil while
making Harry a somewhat naughty boy who likes to break
the rules instead of a know it all teacher's pet.
It draws upon the children’s favourites of fantasy
and magic and combines them with those Enid Blyton
boarding school stories that today's adults enjoyed
as children.
Not only this, but Harry Potter
will help your children develop their powers of imagination
and vocabulary too. When you see a movie, everything
is presented there for instant absorption, but when
you read the book your mind gets a wonderful workout
imagining what everything looks like. Harry Potter
, rich detail, certainly gives a lot of material for
your mind to work with The dialogues are witty, the
jokes and
puns are enough to be entertaining but not overbearing,
and the language is challenging but not difficult.
If your child is already a Harry
Potter fan, you could ask him to tell you about the
books, or be really daring and read one yourself.
This way you can establish a bond and prove to your
son or daughter that you are extremely interested
in what interests them. Nothing impresses a child
more than a parent who takes an interest in their
world. Then, when the movie comes out, sit down and
watch it with your child. The laughs will mean twice
as much when you and your child can both share the
jokes together.
